As a result of New Jersey’s new 4th Round Affordable Housing law (March, 2024) the State’s Department of Community Affairs (DCA) in October 20124 gave all state municipalities estimated additional affordable housing unit obligations to be achieved in ten years. All municipalities had to respond to the State by January 31, 2025 concerning that State estimate.
Teaneck did not release any information about whether it believed the State estimate was correct until on Friday January 24 it published a draft Council resolution 42-2025 (Click Here) on its website which it passed on January 28.
Just before that Council meeting, the Town website added a long memorandum about the Town’s response to the State estimate written by its new Township planning firm, Typology LLC of Newark.

Council passed Resolution 42 – a copy of which is found below.  Earlier in the Council meeting on Tuesday January 28, Typology staffer Petto delivered a slide presentation introducing the firm’s assessment of Teaneck’s new affordable housing obligation.  Unfortunately, the Town website has not yet released that presentation and Council’s discussion of it – although it can be seen as part of the Council video if you Click Here and move the cursor to 1hr25min of that video.
